About Ideaspace
Ideaspace is the Philippines’ premier startup enabler behind Ideaspace Ventures, a VC committed to invest in early-stage Filipino technology startups. It was established in 2012 by its Chairman, Manny V. Pangilinan with the vision of supporting Filipino tech entrepreneurship, and is backed by First Pacific, Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC), PLDT-Smart, Meralco, and Maynilad, along with various public and private organizations.

Thesis and Unique Value Proposition
The Ideaspace HALO Fund envisions to invest in early stage startups from seed to pre-Series A with check sizes from US$150,000 to $300,000. HALO focuses on verticals that have synergies with companies and business interests in the MVP Group and Metro-Pacific Group of companies and will initially include telecommunications, healthtech, fintech, water distribution, power distribution, supply chain & logistics, and mobility.

Guided by this strategy, the fund holds a unique advantage for its portfolio, by providing a strong exit pathway via strategic investment or acquisition by companies within the MVP-MPIC conglomerate. This lends a higher chance of success for the portfolio startups and significantly de-risks investment positions the fund will take.

Fund Raising
The Ideaspace HALO Fund size $10 Million, raised from individual or institutional LPs who can participate through a minimum check size of $50,000. The fund raise is planned to be completed by the end of Q4 2024, but will immediately start deploying investments as soon as 25% of the fund is raised. The life of the fund will be 7-years and will be registered as a Singapore entity.

Startup Venture Fund
Aside from the strategic advantage of being backed by Metro Pacific and the MVP Group, Ideaspace has been designated as one of the investing partners of the Philippine government’s Startup Venture Fund. This allows the government to match any investment by Ideaspace into Philippine startups.
